Each Friday evening during Lent, every neighborhood celebrates the stations of the cross. Our neighborhood, around the church and ex-convent of San Francisco, has a procession carrying the statue of Jesus from the San Francisco church. The statue is carried to each of the stations, represented by a cross decorated in the entrance to a parishioner's home. Dirge music is played by a band. All in the neighborhood are out on the sidewalk, many in chairs brought out from their house (which they do every night anyway).
