We stayed Wednesday night in the Hotel Maria del Carmen in Jalpan (recommended). Thursday we made our way on into San Luis Potosi state to the town of Xilitla and its famous architectural and natural attraction, Las Pozas.

We had a wonderful time wandering the jungle trails and exploring the fantasy created by Edward James and his accomplice, Plutarco Gastelum. Again, the sparkling clear waters of the Huasteca Potosina region dazzled us in waterfalls and pools as the stream ran through the forest. Once more we enjoyed gorditas in the market in the center of Xilitla, and got an outside view of Edward James’ castle (Posada del Castillo) in town.

Then we returned to Querétaro state to visit two of the famous Sierra Gorda Misiónes: Tancoyol

...and Tilaco. 

By now it was getting late, so we returned to Jalpan where the largest of the Misiónes dominates the main plaza:
