After lunch, Manuel drove us from Tepotzotlán to the most famous and most visited archeological site in Mexico, Teotihuacan (UNESCO World Heritage Site). We hesitated briefly while a rainsquall blew over, then proceeded to climb the major monument, called the Pyramid of the Sun (later determined to be actually dedicated to the Rain God Tlaloc). From there, we walked up the famous “Avenue of the Dead” to the Plaza of the Moon in front of the Pyramid of the Moon. Then we toured the Quetzalpapálotl complex, and ended up with a visit to the Museum of Teotihuacan Mural Painting.
