The Regional Museum is housed in the ex-convent that is part of the Santo Domingo church complex. The architecture, from the 16th and 17th centuries, is spectacular. Many views from the windows and porches overlook the grounds that are now dedicated to the Ethnobotanic Gardens, a wonderful ongoing process itself. The museum contains endless collections of artifacts, descriptions, everything to tell the story of the peoples of the state of Oaxaca over the past 10,000 years. Beautifully displayed, and very educational.
