Castro - Iglesia de San Francisco. This church was constructed between 1910 and 1912 by the Franciscans, who succeeded the Jesuits. The neogothic design was intended by the Italian architect Eduardo Provasoli to be constructed in concrete. Instead the local artisans built it entirely in wood. The interior shots (numbers 4-6 in this group) give some hint of the resulting marvelous warmth.
