Corral Desfile Campesino (Farmer's Parade)

We do love a parade! So when Lois read in the paper that a farmer's parade was planned in the tiny town of Corral, just 20km down the road plus a ride across the bay in a launch, we of course had to go. All the folks from the villages up in the hills were there, in their finery, with their produce, tools, whatever they chose. There were suitable festivities, with dignitaries making speeches, lots of huaso (cowboy) gear, and, of course, cueca dancing. We had a great time, but the local folks had even more fun. Note the three mounted authorities, who kicked off the ceremony, passing a traditional drink in a cow's horn to cueca dancers.
