Our house is 500 meters up the street (Paseo de la Reforma) from the TEC campus. It is one of 9 houses in a condominium complex, with lots of garden and a swimming pool in the center.

Across the garden from our house is Carmen's house. Her family includes two sons, her daughter Laura, and her husband Pedro.

Another 500 meters up the Paseo at the top of a hill is the "Palmira Church" (at least that's what our book "The State of Morelos" calls it). It is a unique saddle-shaped concrete shell construction, with most of the audience section under the larger horn of the shell, but otherwise outdoors. A fascinating piece of work, designed by Felix Candela, Manuel Larrosa, and Guillermo Rosell in the 1950s.

The neighborhood blossoms all over itself, at least at this time of year, with bougainvilias, jacarandas, guayacanes, shrimp plants, and no end of beautiful plants, for most of which we don't have names and neither do the neighbors. Topiary is practically everywhere. Here are some pretty examples of the flora ... well, the Ruta 18 bus isn't flora, but it is an important part of the neighborhood since it goes right by in front of the house and takes us to downtown Cuernavaca regularly. The Virgin de Guadalupe is part of the decorations of a house near the TEC.
