From the Avenida Los Proceres, with moss on the orange trees, you look across
the valley that Mérida occupies toward the Sierra Nevada. The snowy
mountain is Pico Bolívar, the highest in Venezuela, at 5007m. We
understand there is a bust of Simon Bolívar mounted on the summit.
We don't plan to verify that.
