Cochamo on the Reloncavi Fjord

The Petrohue River flows from Lago Todos los Santos down to the Reloncavi fjord, which opens out into the Reloncavi Sound. The dirt road we took from Ensenada follows the river and then the fjord. Along the east bank of the fjord (where all these photos were taken), we drove as far as Cochamó, and a few miles farther, through some gorgeous farms along the Cochamó river. If we had a 4-wheel drive vehicle, we could have continued up this valley to explore some of the traditional routes for sneaking across into Argentina. Instead we were content to enjoy the spectacular views of the fjord with Volcán Yate in the distance.
