On Monday morning we had another tasty and leisurely breakfast with plenty of time for stories. Sunday evening we stopped at an overlook near the house to view the city; there were some statues there of heros of the independence struggle, and Lois captured a photo of a scarlet flycatcher on top of Allende's head. This led to a discussion of birds. Then we packed up and said goodbye and many thanks to our gracious hosts, Carlos, Guille, Carlis, and Sara,

and we headed for the Santuario Guadalupe and the surrounding area.

We enjoyed the unique beauty of the Guadalupe church, and noted how much better the Plaza Morelos, Aqueduct, and the Tarascas fountain look now than they did 12 years ago when we were last in Morelia.

Then we headed home to Querétaro, with a couple of roadside stops to buy fresh fruits and vegetables and to enjoy an authentic Michoacan comida tipica. We got home about 3:30, tired and very happy.
